Cynthia Gillanders

RHIP, Founder & CEO, Inlet Hearing

With more than 20 years of leadership in the health and wellness industry, Cynthia Gillanders brings deep expertise and heartfelt dedication to Inlet Hearing. An honours graduate and fully Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner (RHIP), she combines clinical excellence with a genuine passion for helping people stay connected to the world around them.

Cynthia’s commitment to hearing health was sparked by watching her grandmother struggle with isolation caused by untreated hearing loss. Witnessing how exclusion from conversation can undermine self-confidence and quality of life instilled in her a lifelong resolve: to ensure no one feels left out or excluded from the sounds and voices they treasure.

After volunteering at numerous hearing-care events and seeing firsthand the life-changing impact of improved hearing, Cynthia founded Inlet Hearing. She leads a dedicated team that delivers personalized care, innovative hearing solutions, and ongoing support, empowering each client to rediscover the joy of clear communication.

When she isn’t fitting hearing instruments or counseling clients, Cynthia stays at the forefront of her field through continuing education, industry conferences, and collaboration with audiologists and hearing researchers. Her mission is simple: to transform lives by helping people hear better, feel more confident, and remain fully engaged with family, friends, and community.

Outside the Clinic

Cynthia loves exploring the great outdoors - whether hiking coastal trails, skiing powder slopes, or simply soaking up nature’s beauty. She’s also an avid painter, dancer, and singer, and delights in culinary adventures: cooking new recipes, sampling global cuisines, and discovering hidden local gems. These passions keep her energized and inspired, qualities she brings to every client interaction.

Ling Ling Yin RHIP

Hearing Instrument Practitioner (HIP)

As a Hearing Instrument Practitioner (HIP), Ling Ling has dedicated years to working in this field, attending international hearing program conferences and volunteering in the Canadian Medical Mission Society in 2023.

She has advanced her knowledge and abilities to provide a greater variety of services by obtaining an Advanced Cerumen Management Certificate and a Tinnitus Care Provider Certificate by the International Hearing Society (IHS).

Ling Ling has served the local family community for over 20 years - from volunteering at Burnaby Family Life, the Salvation Army store, to helping seniors at local hearing clinics.
